Principal's Message

August 11, 2020

Dear CMS Students and Parents,

As you are well aware, the beginning of school this year will look quite different than in years past.  CCSC staff has spent countless hours preparing for a safe reentry to school.  We are all looking forward to seeing our students return to CMS!

The CCSC reentry plan can be found on our corporation website.  At CMS, we have established building-specific plans as well in order to keep our students and staff safe and healthy.  Remember, masks are required to be worn while in the building.  Other changes include the following:

  • No visitors will be permitted in the building.
  • This is not a new procedure, but remember on the first day of school at CMS, parents are not permitted to walk their child to class.
  • We are requesting no deliveries/drop-offs at school, with the exception of medications for the nurse’s office.
  • Open House – this year we will have a virtual open house. Each teacher will create a video for parents/students and it will be available by August 14. The video can be viewed in Google Classroom.

If you were unable to pick up your child’s Chromebook during last week’s distribution, remember you must register on One2One Risk Solutions first.  Once registered, your child will receive their Chromebook at school.

On a final note, remember if you drop your child off for school in the mornings, they are to be dropped off on the south side of the building, not in the front of the building.  Doors will be open at 7:40.

School is a place for learning and for social interaction.   I assure you we will continue to educate your child at the highest level; however, unfortunately, social interaction must be limited at this time.  I would like to thank you in advance for your understanding and patience during this time.   Keep in mind, this won’t last forever!  We just have to “do what it takes” to keep staff and students safe.

Ms. Dawn Tucker
